WRITE // Every Morning

There’s an optional (and highly recommended) component to this offering that involves daily stream-of-consciousness writing upon waking - three pages of anything and everything that crosses your mind. This practice is known as morning pages and is considered a subconscious dump and a path to higher creativity. I am in awe of it’s efficacy.

If you’re curious in layering this practice in most mornings I recommend acquiring a copy of Julia Cameron’s The Artist’s Way for more thematic insights. This is not necessary but supplemental. Please check with your local independent bookstore first or support the grim + convenient marker of neoliberalism we all love to hate and hate to love and prime it. Or if you can get down with more screen time here’s a free PDF.

MOVE // recorded Class

For 11 weeks we’ll explore a new theme using kundalini yoga techniques based on the flow of The Artist’s Way. Class recordings will include a short introduction to theme, pranayam (breath exercise), kriya (dynamic movement), relaxation, and mantra (chanting). You’ll have access to them for the duration of our programming (and as long as you are a member of the GCCG) so you can revisit when you like as you like.

The Artist’s Way is considered a spiritual path to higher creativity and I believe the magic of the program happens when we filter our uncoverings through the body. We’ll spend the summer touching parts of ourselves we may have forgotten and in that work towards recovering a sense of the following:

  1. safety

  2. identity

  3. power

  4. Integrity + Possibility

  5. Abundance

  6. Connection

  7. Strength

  8. Compassion

  9. Self-Protection

  10. Autonomy

  11. Faith
